Ratis
Ratis is the Goddess of the Iron Age hill forts of Northumberland. A Roman altar, inscribed with her name, has been found at Birdoswald and can be viewed in Chesters Museum. She may have been a Goddess local to the area around Hadrian’s Wall, as no further inscriptions have been discovered in other areas of Britain.
As with many Iron Age Goddesses, the evidence has been documented by the invading Romans who Latinized the Brythonic name of the Goddess.
