The Art of Ritual
Ritual is a means of human expression, communication and a
vehicle for development and change.
From the moment of birth onwards, women and men are destined to grow, develop, and
transform. This process can be positive, or negative, but change will happen, either way.
Ritual is about embracing change, transformation, development and openness to experience. It is about surrendering to life’s energy and using the momentum of experience to propel oneself forwards.
Ritual enables us to express difficulties, give thanks, show enthusiasm, and bless the challenge of new opportunities with encouragement. It helps us face transformation bravely.
Ritual enables those who believe in the spiritual expression of life, to communicate with faith that their communications will be heard, and acted upon by a Divine entity.
Thought is the starting place, followed by intention. What follows next is expressed by as
many means of creativity as there are people on the planet, and then some.
Not only do we communicate outwardly to “Spirit”, but we communicate inwardly to“Self”. Who will you be communicating with? This is your journey of learning. Only you can answer this question for yourself.
The Goddesses who are called upon during the rituals in Ritual Journeys with Great British Godesses were worshipped during pre-Roman times by communities of Iron Age tribes. They were important in that day, within those tribes, in their local geographical area, with their traditions, beliefs, and rituals.
But for the most part the Goddesses have not got fantastical myths and legends attached to their names. During our rituals we are challenged by the following questions: is each Goddess a Goddess in her own right? Or is she a “face” or “aspect” of the Great Goddess. Is she a “Spirit?” Or is she an archetype of the greater human unconscious understanding that is recognised by all humanity.
Do we worship the Goddess, or do we work alongside the Goddess – or both? Will she communicate back to us? If she does, will we understand her? How you will communicate? How the dialogue between Spirit and human evolves, is part of the adventure. Exploring these questions is part of our reason for creating ritual.
