The concept of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, comprising England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland did not exist in the pre-Roman era and the time during which the Roman's invaded Britain.
The Romans named the South of England and Wales “Higher
Britannia” and the Northern part of England and Scotland “Lower Britannia”.
